Umar Akmal

Umar Akmal was born on June 26, 1989, in Punjab. Pakistan cricketer. He played cricket in Pakistan between 2009-19 2019. The Pakistan Cricket Board banned him for 18 months based on his failure to disclose any offer of fixing spots in August 2021. Akmal made his first international ODI debut at the start of the first quarter in Sri Lanka in October 2009 and then his Twenty20 international debut against Sri Lanka in October 2009. It was a right-handed batsman as well as an aspiring spinner. Umar has also been an ODI wicketkeeper for the nation as a son of Adnan and Kamran.

In February 2020, Akmal was suspended by the PCB for failing to report corrupt approaches ahead of the Pakistan Super League. Pakistan Super League:

Umar Akmal has been a regular member of the Pakistan Super League since its inception in 2016. He was initially signed by the Lahore Qalandars but was later released by the franchise due to disciplinary issues. Akmal was then signed by the Quetta Gladiators in 2016 and played a crucial role in their run to the final, scoring 335 runs in 13 matches at an average of 27.91.

In the 2017 PSL, Akmal was the leading run-scorer for the Quetta Gladiators, scoring 353 runs in 11 matches at an average of 32.09. He was also named the Player of the Match in the final, where he scored an unbeaten 40 to help his team win the title.

In the following years, Akmal continued to play for the Quetta Gladiators, but his performances were inconsistent. He was released by the franchise ahead of the 2020 season and was later signed by the Peshawar Zalmi. However, he was suspended by the PCB before the start of the tournament and did not play a part in the competition.
